Decatur is making some serious changes this year. One of the most obvious is the new schedule. Every Wednesday, students will have 50 minutes two so-called learning connections of their choice. The learning connections will alternate between “Blue Week” and “Gold Week”.

Every six weeks, students will have the opportunity to switch clubs and try something new. There will be over 40 different clubs to choose from, which range from extra help for AP classes to sports clubs, such as ultimate frisbee or football.

Faculty and staff feel that this will give students that would not otherwise have the time to have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities, and also will provide a mid-week break for students to do something they enjoy.

Over the next couple of weeks, students will have the chance to sign up for two different clubs in their homeroom class.
