DECATUR BULLDOGS
Coach: Price Jones (Valdosta State) third season (8-12, 43-54 overall in nine seasons)
2009 Record: 5-5

Starters Returning: seven

Top Returning Players: Sr. RB/LB Quindarius Hall; Sr. WR/CB Tevin McCoy; Sr. DE Octavius Brightwell; Sr. DE Tevin Najeeulah; Jr. OL/LB Sam Jones

Season Outlook: The Bulldogs had their best season under head coach Price Jones last year when they were one game from the playoffs with a 5-5 record.

The battle will be uphill this season, as Decatur only returns seven starters from last year’s squad. The Bulldogs graduated 19 players after last season.

Jones will look to senior running back/linebacker Quindarius Hall to lead the offense. Hall was the team’s leading rusher last year, and he will have to have another strong season for the Bulldogs to be successful on the field.

What the Bulldogs lack in depth, they may make up for in leadership from defensive ends Tevin Najeeulah and Octavius Brightwell. Both seniors have taken it upon themselves to lead the Bulldogs into action this season.

The Bulldogs look to make the postseason for the first time since reaching the semifinals in 2003, where they lost to eventual state champion, Buford.
